HALLOWEEN
DINNER PARTY
A Halloween
dinner party is a classy way to
entertain your family and friends before
Halloween. You can also do this as a
celebration of October, the gateway to
Autumn, Halloween and our favorite time
of year. Keep the party small, six to
eight people is a nice number that won't
over crowd your dinning room table. As
they arrive, serve some small appetizers
and drinks.
While you
are getting the dinner courses finished
and ready to serve, your guests can
mingle and discuss plans for this years
yard haunts, new props they have made or
purchased and just talk about Halloween
in general. For a classy Halloween
dinner party, ask our guest to dress
semi-formal, with coats and ties for the
men, and dresses for the ladies. Allow
costumes to be worn only if they are
very dressy, such as a Gothic vampire
men's suit or women's floor length
dress. Check out the top three costumes
on the
Halloween Online
costume pages
to see what we mean. Something
like these, minus the fangs and vampire
make-up make for a very classy look.
For
decorations, you could set up table top
Halloween Village. Most mass retailers
are coming out with their own sets of
these that are less expensive then the
ones available at craft stores. Place
displays of autumn leaves, mini
pumpkins, gourds and other Fall foliage
around the living room and dinning area.
You can make a very nice Halloween
centerpiece for your dinning table using
Autumnal silk flowers and a medium sized
pumpkin. Check out
Halloween Online
Craft
section for instructions. Use a
nice linen Halloween tablecloth for your
table along with cloth napkins,
Halloween napkin rings and tableware. A
Halloween tree makes a great addition to
your other decorations.
A full
course meal including appetizers, soup,
salad, entree and a desert. Fresh apple
cider, spiced tea and red wine are good
choices for drinks. For the main course
we like to use pumpkin, you can find
main meal recipes at
The Pumpkin Patch
as well as ideas for all courses.
Dessert is usually a sweet treat of
Crème Brule' served in individual small
pumpkin bowls.
Whether you go with classy or casual, a
Halloween dinner party is a nice way to
usher in the season with close friends
and family. For more on putting a
